Scottish Spaceport

The UK Space Agency announced the intention to build a Scottish Spaceport to conduct vertical rocket launches in the Summer of 2018 with Sutherland being cited initially as the location. Although since then other locations have stepped in with their own bids to create a Scottish Spaceport including the Western Isles and Unst in the Shetlands.

A number of horizontal launch locations have also been proposed with Machrihanish in Argyll also hoping to have their own Scottish Spaceport.
