Prestwick Spaceport
The Prestwick Spaceport is set to be based in Prestwick Airport on the West coast of Scotland.
Plans for the spaceport involve horizontal launch of rockets from the under-carriage or wings of standard aeroplanes, similarly to Virgin Orbit’s operation at the Cornwall Spaceport in the South West of England.
The Prestwick Spaceport is already starting to take shape with the opening of an Aerospace Innovation centre.
It is already home to Spirit Aerosystems, BAE, GE Caledonian, Collins Aerospace, Woodward Aerospace, IMT Aviation and many more.
