Vertical Launch

The vertical launch is a traditional rocket launch technology when a carrier lifts off a special pad — either on the ground or in the sea. Today, most aerospace companies, including the giant SpaceX, rely on vertical launch systems to carry payloads to necessary orbits.

The UK is currently finalizing permits for five vertical launch sites in Scotland, England, and Wales. Once these spaceports are operational, the UK will be able to offer full launch capability — from manufacturing the satellites to deploying them on its own rockets.

The first vertical launch in the UK may happen by late-2022. In the meantime, this page will keep you updated on all important vertical launch news as they happen worldwide.
