Space Park Leicester Welcomes Kleos Space

The UK subsidiary of Kleos Space is moving into Space Park Leicester research hub. Kleos sees the new site as offering facilities for manufacturing, development, research, and access to a tech community. The Radio Frequency Reconnaissance Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) and Mission-as-a-Service (MaaS) provider announced the move on 6th July.

Miles Ashcroft, the Global Chief Innovation Officer at Kleos, stated the following.

“The Space Park offers a fantastic work environment for us, and with its plans for the future and potential opportunities for collaboration, it is a great fit for our strategy to grow to meet the demands of our customers.”

What is Space Park Leicester?

The University of Leicester spearheads the Space Park Leicester project alongside local authorities. Together, they offer businesses and sites and resources for satellite engineering and design. Space Park Leicester places an emphasis on covering everything from downstream data to its applications.

Prof Martin Barstow, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Space Park Leicester, commented on Kleos’ arrival.

“Kleos Space is internationally respected for their work on detecting and geolocating radio frequency transmissions from space to identify hidden and illegal activity.

“They are yet another huge asset to the community at Space Park Leicester and we are incredibly proud to welcome them here.”

Space Park Leicester offers work spaces for businesses of every size from single desks to an entire secure office. AST SpaceMobile opened headquarters at Space Park Leicester last year.

Part of Kleos’ long-term UK growth strategy

US and Luxembourg based Kleos set up at Space Park Leicester as part of the company’s long-term strategy to develop in the UK. The business operates 12 satellites in space at present, which are separated into clusters of four. This includes the Patrol Mission, which launched in April.
