Altitude Film Entertainment, based in London, teams up with Sylvester Stallone’s Balboa Productions to work on a movie adaptation of the ‘The Apollo Murders’ novel by multiple best-selling author and one of the world’s most accomplished astronauts, Chris Hadfield.

What is the book Apollo Murders about?

The book was written by the famous Chris Hadfield, the Canadian former commander of the ISS and author. ‘The Apollo Murders’ book is set in an alternate version of 1973, during the Cold War. In this story, the US and the USSR are racing to exploit a discovery on the Moon. The key differences in this version of 1973 are that the Apollo 18 mission became a military operation, and the Soviet Union successfully launched a military space station.

These changes lead to a tense situation in space involving military conflict, personal grudges, and a lot of uncertainty. The story explores old rivalries and trust issues while the characters are far away from help. Hadfield’s storytelling combines historical tweaks with thrilling drama, making the book an exciting read.

Altitude Film, which produced ‘David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet’ and ‘The Irishman’ movies, announced its plans to cooperate with Balboa Productions under development of the ‘The Apollo Murders’ movie.

Earlier this year, Sylvester Stallone’s Balboa Productions signed a film and TV first-look deal with Amazon Studios. Under the agreement, the legendary filmmaker will write, produce and star in scripted and unscripted projects intended for Prime Video. Apparently, ‘The Apollo Murders’ book adaptation is one of the projects under this agreement.

So far, there are no details regarding the cast or whether it’s going to be a TV series or a film.
