Centropy PR Adds Another Space Business to Their Portfolio

Centropy PR responded to a communications brief from Smallspark Space Systems. The aerospace research and development firm based in Cardiff was looking for a technology specialist PR company in order to represent them.

After a competitive bidding process, Centropy PR won the tender. It is an exciting win for the communications agency. This is in addition to two other companies in the UK space industry they will be representing.

The other two companies also represented by Centropy are British interplanetary, a think tank in space deployment, and Shetland Space Centre, a new rocket launch site. These UK Space businesses came on board in July and August this year.

The UK Space Industry

An industry report shows that the UK Space Sector brings in revenue of £5.7 billion to the GDP. The growth of the industry is roughly three times the size it was in the year 2000.

For Centropy PR, winning the contract is a significant coup. They have already established themselves as a successful PR services provider. The company covers media relations, social media consultancy, thought leadership and public policy guidance.

For a company that is barely three years old, Centropy is already cementing itself as one of the major technology specialist communications agencies in the UK.

What the CEOs Had To Say

Speaking during the announcement, Centropy founder Steven George-Hilley expressed gratification and excitement around the win. He announced that the company was working at growing its technology and science portfolio with retainer clients. With the UK Space industry growing at such a fast pace, there is massive potential for job creation, rebuilding the economy after lockdown and driving forward the skills agenda.

With grant funding for multiple research programs from the UK Space Agency and SPRINT, Smallspark is on a fast growth path. The company is the creator of Frost One and Frost Micro, the lightweight suborbital research vehicles.

Joseph Ward, the founder of Smallspark Space Systems, expressed satisfaction with Centropy’s ability to handle the communications task. One of the key criteria in picking an agency was a company that could support their rapid growth in the UK market.

Centropy PR had demonstrated awareness in targeted messaging and the ability to come up with creative campaigns. The agency had the skills, knowledge and passion, making them an excellent fit for the Cardiff based space company.
