UK and Norway Strengthen Space Collaboration with New Agreement
11th Apr 2025
A great day for international space collaboration, as the UK Space Agency has just revealed it’s teaming up with the Norwegian Space Agency to take on one of the biggest challenges in modern spaceflight; keeping track of everything in orbit.
The newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the UK and Norwegian space agencies marks a major step towards working more closely on Space Domain Awareness (SDA). This fast-growing area focuses on tracking satellites, space debris and other objects flying above Earth.
Turning Trusted Ties Into Orbital Action
The UK and Norway already have a strong track record of working together on defence and security. This latest agreement adds space to that list, showing both nations are serious about keeping vital domains safe and well-managed.
With space becoming more crowded, contested and competitive, this kind of international cooperation is more important than ever. Sharing data, tools and know-how will help both countries stay ahead of potential risks and protect their satellites.
The UK Space Agency called it “a key step in strengthening the space partnership between the UK and Norway”.

Building Resilience in Space – What Comes Next?
The agreement opens the door to more joint projects, smarter data sharing and better technology for monitoring what’s happening in orbit. With thousands of satellites now circling the planet, and many more on the way, this kind of international cooperation is crucial for keeping space safe, secure and sustainable.
