Astrophotographer Josh Dury captured a stunning moment during the partial solar eclipse on 29 March, as the event unfolded over the ancient and iconic Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England. This breathtaking image showcases the solar phenomenon against the backdrop of one of the world’s most historic astronomical monuments, built to align with the sun during the summer solstice.

This first one of the week’s best space images offers a unique perspective, as the photographer was fortunate to witness and photograph the rare conditions of the eclipse from start to finish, with clear skies above.

‘The experience has been positively overwhelming; to see so much interest in this eclipse and have a go at photographing this incredible celestial event,’ the photographer added on his Instagram.

Saeed Ahmed Abbasi beautifully captured the enchanting sight of a 6% illuminated waxing crescent moon, glowing with a soft earthshine. Saeed created a stack of 10 RAW images, showcasing the moon’s stunning details and magical glow against the dark sky.
