Hubble Just Captured The Most Insane Andromeda Galaxy Panorama Ever – You Need To See This!

The Hubble Space Telescope has captured its most stunning view of the Andromeda Galaxy yet – a massive mosaic image composed of 600 individual photos taken over 12 years.

What’s Inside The Andromeda Panorama?

This breathtaking panorama, featured as NASA’s Astronomy Picture Of The Day, offers an unprecedented look at our neighbouring galaxy. It consists of pieces made between July 2010 and December 2022. The complete Hubble mosaic of the galaxy (below) stretches across an area nearly the size of six full moons in Earth’s sky.

Hubble’s detailed observations of this stunning galaxy provide valuable details about its structure. Hence, astronomers can now study the evolution of spiral galaxies in greater depth than ever before!

The Andromeda Galaxy – Our Closest Neighbour

The Andromeda Galaxy, or M31, is the closest large spiral galaxy to the Milky Way. It is located approximately 2.5 million light-years from Earth. As the largest galaxy in our local group, Andromeda provides a crucial reference for scientific exploration of spiral galaxies. Unlike the Milky Way, which we observe from within its galactic disk, Andromeda offers a clear, external view of a spiral galaxy’s entire structure.
