Grok 3 Launches To Compete Against ChatGPT and DeepSeek

Elon Musk’s firm, xAI, has successfully launched Grok 3, an upgrade to its existing artificial intelligence model. The tech guru and billionaire now claim that this new model outperforms the competition from Google OpenAI and DeepSeek.

What Features Does The New Grok 3 Bring?

With the growing competition in the artificial intelligence space, a lot of big players are innovating their various AI models, hence enabling them to do more. To keep up with the competition, xAI needs to improve on the features that its Grok AI model offers to users hence this launch.

Making up this new AI model from xAI are Grok 3 (Think) and Grok 3 mini (Think) both of which use reinforcement learning (RL). Both models have been put through a series of tests by xAI like ChatBot Arena, AIME’24, GPQA, EgoSchema, and the like.

Despite being in its beta testing phase, xAI claims that the performance of these AI models across all tests was better than the competition. This upgraded model is trained on xAI’s “Colossus supercluster with 10x the compute of previous state-of-the-art models.”

Some of the abilities of this model include reasoning, solving mathematics problems, coding, world knowledge, and instruction-following tasks. While some of these are features that the previous Grok 2 is to perform, xAI claims that this new model brings improvements in performing these tasks.

Regarding its reasoning ability, xAI claims that the new model’s refinement is “through large-scale reinforcement learning.” This helps the upgraded model to perform cognitive activities, make necessary corrections to errors that it might make, and try out different alternatives to solving problems.

How To Gain Access To The New Grok 3

If you want to get your hands on the new Grok 3 you’ll need to be an X Premium+ user. This means that you’ll have to subscribe to the X Premium+ plan for $40 per month or $369 per year.

Users of X Premium accounts can also access this feature but won’t get all its features. So features like DeepSearch, Think, and early access to any new feature won’t be available to Premium users.
If you don’t own an X account and still want to use the new Grok 3 AI model, you can access it from its official website. However, you’ll need to open an xAI account to use the AI tool.
