Firefly Welcomes Former CNBC Space Journalist as Investor Relations Director

Michael Sheetz has been announced as the new Director of Investor Relations at Firefly, as the company tries to boost its presence and improve its future prospects in the space industry.

Sheetz was previously a space reporter for CNBC, but has now moved to the Texas-based space company which is known for its operational Alpha rocket, and the Blue Ghost Mission One that is due to touch down on Mars in March.

The King’s College-educated former reporter spent nearly a decade with CNBC. He has been involved in the digital reporting to television programming, and is the author of the weekly newsletter CNBC’s Investing in Space, which Firefly will be hoping serves him well when it comes to building contacts and aiding investments.

In a statement, Sheetz explained: “I’m excited to be joining not just a rocket company, or just a spacecraft company, or just moon lander company – but instead a diversified space transportation business driven by an exceptional, hard-working team. I’ve just arrived in Austin and can’t wait to get started next week.”

Sheetz had left his role earlier in February, but did not announce that this would be his next challenge at the time. He is wasting no time in getting started in the new role.
