US-based space intelligence company BlackSky Technology has secured multiple multi-year contracts in India, according to a press release published on 13 February.
Several commercial customers in India will gain access to the BlackSky Spectra subscription, which offers high-cadence imagery and AI-enabled analytics services.
What’s Inside The Agreements?
The agreements also include the delivery of a high-resolution Earth observation satellite, along with launch support operations and on-orbit maintenance services. Collectively, these contracts are valued in the eight-figure range.
The contracts will enhance India’s ability to monitor critical events affecting the country, supporting the development of its sovereign space capabilities.
“Contributing to the development of India’s commercial Earth observation capabilities is an immense honour, and we look forward to supporting our customer’s upcoming launch and on-orbit operations”, said Brian O’Toole, BlackSky CEO.
In other recent news, BlackSky Technology plans to enhance its satellite imaging capabilities with the launch of its first Gen-3 satellite.
