This doesn’t mean that the character Jill Valentine will sink into oblivion for this coming game as Dusk adds that while she’s not the protagonist “maybe a file will reference her.” Dusk also tosses aside rumours of the return of Ethan Winters, whose first appearance was in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

Despite pointing to Leon Kennedy as the protagonist of the coming Resident Evil 9 game, Dusk doesn’t give any details on this reveal. There are no details as to Leon’s return to the game after his last sighting in the Resident Evil 3 remake.
