New Glenn Seen From Space

This amazing photo comes from the astronaut Don Pettit. He captured the New Glenn rocket launch from the ISS on 16th January. The image shows the upper stage in the coast phase after booster separation, with a faint rocket streak moving from lower right to upper left.

“This was not an easy photograph to take. ISS was over Oklahoma at the beginning and over central Gulf of Mexico at the end of the exposure,” commented Don Pettit.

Comet G3 (ATLAS) 2024 Among The Best Photos

This amazing astrophoto shared by Dylan O’Donnell showcases Comet G3 (ATLAS) 2024, one of the main space highlights from last week. Captured from Cape Byron, the image offers a stunning view of the comet as it passes over the town.

The photographer added that while the comet is easily visible to the naked eye, it appears even more striking through binoculars.

Luc Perrot caught a view of the Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) on the evening of 19th January from the heights of the West. The photo beautifully captures its glowing trail against the sky lit up with the sunset.

“A couple passed by and asked, like so many others earlier “Is it safe to be sitting here with all this gear?” Well no, but how else can I take photos of a comet that will only maybe come around again in hundreds of thousands of years?” wrote Carol.
