It’s been a great year for spotting auroras — even in areas further south than usual. As the Equinox increases the chances of a geomagnetic storm from solar eruption this week, the northern lights continue to amaze people in the northern United States and Canada. On Wednesday night, the phenomenon was seen in several northern U.S. states, including Washington, Idaho, Montana, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Maine.

X user Justin Time has shared photos of the Aurora in Alberta, Canada.

“Got the Northern Lights hitting again tonight. These pics are from my friend’s house like 4 min away. Easier to see there as I’m close to and facing the airport,” he wrote.

“The incredible explosion of colours last night in the Icelandic Highlands to close a session that had started out quite ordinary,” Luc Perrot wrote on his X. “I had never had the opportunity to observe such colours before. It was hard to get tired of the spectacle.”
