FX Released the First Teaser of ‘Alien: Earth’ New TV Series from Noah Hawley

A recent movie premiere of ‘Alien: Romulus’ remind all the fans of the beloved franchise. Directed by Fede Alvarez, the sci-fi thriller earned $285.3 million worldwide in just three weeks in theatres. This success surpassed the previous highest-grossing horror film of 2024, ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’. So the timing is perfect for the first teaser of the FX’s new TV series ‘Alien: Earth’.

‘Alien: Earth’ Will Be a Prequal To Iconic 1979 ‘Alien’ Movie

‘Alien: Earth’ is an upcoming science fiction horror TV series written and directed by Noah Hawley, based on the Alien franchise. FX has released the first 15-second trailer that gives goosebumps.

The quick clip shows an angry and feral Xenomorph with dark, sharp teeth and lips dripping with drool. 

“When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat,” the synopsis explains.

Director and cast

Sydney Chandler will play Wendy, a woman who has the body of an adult and consciousness of a child.

Besides Sydney Chandler, who previously appeared in projects like ‘Sugar’, ‘Pistol,’ and ‘Don’t Worry Darling’, the show features Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, and Adarsh Gourav.

The series will serve as a prequel and will be set three decades before the events of the 1979 film ‘Alien’. The director and executive producer Hawley previously shared that the series will be tied more to the style and mythology of the original 1979 film rather than the prequel films ‘Prometheus‘ (2012), and ‘Alien: Covenant’ (2017). Noah Hawley previously worked on ‘Fargo’, ‘Legion’, ‘Bones’, and other series. He was also a creator and an executive producer of ‘The Unusuals’ (2009) and ‘My Generation’ (2010).

Ridley Scott is the show’s executive producer.

‘Alien: Earth’ Release Date

According to Hawley, ‘Alien: Earth’ is expected to premiere in the first half of 2025. However, no specific date has been announced so far.
