Space Zone at Farnborough International Airshow 2024: From Deep Space Exploration to Commercial Flights

Farnborough International Airshow 2024 (FIA2024) starts this Monday, 22 July, and lasts until 26 July.
Every two years the most prominent representatives from the aerospace, aviation and defence industries will gather at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre to share thoughts and experience.
This year’s Farnborough International Airshow focuses on six key topics, each offering a unique message:
- Space
- Defence
- Sustainability
- Innovation
- Future flight
- Workforce.
Space Zone Theatre at Farnborough
The Space Zone will be the brightest spot at the Farnborough International Airshow, offering opportunities to network with the leading innovators driving the space industry.
The European Space Agency (ESA), the UK Space Agency, NASA, and other organisations are preparing to present their contributions to space exploration and technology at the Farnborough event, highlighting the international collaboration and sustainability in the space industry. A variety of panels featuring various speakers and astronauts are scheduled in the Space Theatre.
Josef Aschbacher, ESA’s Director General, will be present on 22 and 23 July to elaborate on Europe’s challenges, ESA’s vision of the space industry, and the UK’s role in it.
Dr Paul Bate, Chief Executive Officer UK Space Agency (UKSA) will open this year’s space event at the Farnborough International Airshow.
John Steinmeyer, Executive Director for Assured Access to Space, USSF Space Systems Command, will present a summary of current agenda and collaboration initiatives.
The panel of global science leaders, featuring Prof Carol Mundell, Director of Science at ESA and Dr Nicola Fox, Associate Administrator for NASA, will take place at the Space Theatre.
Some of the ESA Directors participating at FIA2024 include Simonetta Cheli, Director of Earth Observation Programmes and Laurent Jaffart, Head of ESA/ECSAT in Harwell and Director of Connectivity and Secure Communications.
The continuation of this year’s Space Zone will be the Farnborough International Space Show, launching in March 2025. This space industry event will gather even more leaders in this field globally to discuss insights from this year’s discussions.
