Star Wars Celebration 2023: What To Expect And How To Watch Online

Star Wars Celebration 2023 opens its doors to all franchise fans as early as 7th April, and the celebration for fans will continue until 10th April. Unfortunately, not everything will make it to the official stream of the festival, but the main announcements and performances can be watched online.

Star Wars Celebration 2023 is a festival for one of the most popular science fiction franchises, the history of which began with “Episode IV: A New Hope” in 1977. Over more than 40 years, the franchise has received 9 main movies and 2 more feature movies, 4 TV series and more animation, from series to individual episodes – and this is only the official part of the saga, not taking into account the countless content generated by the huge fanbase.

What to expect from Star Wars Celebration 2023

During the festival, the heads of the Disney studio should announce at once 3 new full movies in the Star Wars universe, a new series and the plans of the studio. It is expected that the studio has prepared additional surprises for fans, because information about new movies has been circulating the Internet for a long time. And the new series, the trailer of which has already been released, is the long-awaited story of Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker’s padawan.

Already revealed directors who led the new films, are: James Mangold (Logan, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian, Ahsoka), and Academy Award- and Emmy Award-winning director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel, Saving Face).

James Mangold’s movie will tell the story of the formation of the Jedi Order, Dave Filoni’s film will focus on the rise of the New Republic and wrap up some of the intertwining stories told in The Mandalorian, The Boba Fett Book, Ahsoka and other Disney+ series. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s movie will take place after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, and Daisy Ridley will return as Rey, who is building a new Jedi order.
