Skyrora Wins Best Innovation in Business Award from the Chamber of Commerce

On 30th March, Skyrora won the Best Innovation in Business award from the Midlothian & East Lothian Chamber of Commerce. The conference was held in person for the first time in two years and hosted 270 guests from the two Scottish regions.

Besides Midlothian-based aerospace company Skyrora, the Chamber of Commerce celebrated other prominent Mid- and East Lothian companies. The awards celebrated companies who had the most impact on the local business community, committed to youth development programmes, and addressed environmental issues. It also celebrated new and resilient businesses of the year, as well as Local Hero – the only award granted to individuals rather than companies.

Midlothian & East Lothian Chamber of Commerce CEO Karen Ritchie commented on the ceremony, stating that it was a great pleasure to celebrate all those prominent businesses in person. According to Ritchie, the recent COVID crisis has taken a huge toll on many companies, which is why it is so important to celebrate the most resilient ones such as Skyrora and other local enterprises. Ms Ritchie wished all proud winners, including Skyrora, the best of luck in the further development of their businesses and in supporting the local economy.
