Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic Invites Space Tourists to Book Flights
22nd Dec 2021Virgin Galactic, owned by British billionaire Richard Branson, invites prospective clients to book their space tourism flights with a fully refundable deposit of $10,000. The total cost of the ticket stands at a solid $450,000, but booking a seat in advance should get all interested customers into a priority list in line for a space tourism flight.
Virgin Galactic Space Tourists Priority List
Starting early December, Virgin Galactic started inviting clients to book their space flights on a priority list. The list should ensure exclusive bookings directly from the Astronaut Office. The number of exclusive reservations for the next year will be limited, and the list should open in early 2022.
Richard Branson Company’s Success so Far
Despite the high cost of the ticket for space tourists, Virgin Galactic seems to be doing fine. The company stock value shows a steady increase at 3.4%, and even despite impressive ticket prices, Virgin Galactic does not lack customers. The space tourism flight from Virgin Galactic lasts around 90 minutes, taking all willing space ‘pioneers’ to an altitude of 50 km above sea level on a SpaceShipTwo carrier. As Virgin Galactic refers to its early-bird clients, the space tourism pioneers will also get a chance to spend several minutes in zero gravity.
