Skyrora CEO, Volodymyr Levykin, wins Satellite Personality of the Year Award

Satellite Personality of the Year Prize Goes to Skyrora CEO, Volodymyr Levykin 

Skyrora CEO, Volodymyr Levykin, has been awarded the Satellite Personality of the Year award for contributions to UK space exploration. The UK SSPI (Society of Satellite Professionals International) gives out this prestigious award every year to honour unique and innovative contributions to space exploration and technology. The SSPI’s chair, Betty Bonnardel, stated that the committee wished to honour Levykin and the Skyrora space company’s work in promoting Scotland’s launch capacity. Skyrora have developed launch technology that will help accelerate Scotland’s aims to reach space. 

Volodymyr Levykin, Skyrora CEO, Joins Those Honoured by Prestigious SSPI Award

The annual SSPI award is given out to a range of companies, innovators, and entrepreneurs who have made a significant difference in the space sector. Previous winners have included Goonhilly CEO Ian Jones and Catherine Mealing-Jones of the UK Space Agency. Greg Wyler, founder of OneWeb, and Ahmed Moin, of the International Mobile Satellite Organisation have also claimed this award in previous years. 

The award aims to celebrate those who have significantly contributed to knowledge in their area. It also holds up innovators, like Volodymyr Levykin of Skyrora, who positively challenge industry standards and help create new technology. The focus of the award is to honour those who have helped expand knowledge and education around the world and who have use space tech for humanitarian aims. 

SSPI Award Celebrates Companies That Promote Connectivity

 In receiving this award, Skyrora joins a host of talent in the space industry. Other winners this year included Hellas Sat for their work promoting satellite communication networks across Africa and the Middle East. UltiSat were also commended for their satellite communications systems in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Volodymyr Levykin will be officially awarded this prize for Skyrora at The Better Satellite World Awards on 9th December.
