Four Microlaunchers including Skyrora and Rocket Factory Augsburg, sign MOUs with GOSA
16th Sep 2021Peter Altmaier, Minister for Economy in Germany, announced the government’s support for a microlaunching site in the North Sea. Such a site will have significant benefits for Rocket Factory Augsburg and Skyrora.
This is not a new idea, but it’s only now getting the government’s approval. The Federation of German Industries (BDI) CEO, Siegfried Russwurm, has supported the idea for quite some time. He is one of the people who gave the idea his blessing.
New German Microlauncher is Great News for Skyrora and Rocket Factory Augsburg
Having the platform in the North Sea is crucial, and it will be run by the GOSA (German Offshore Spaceport Alliance). There are MOUs in place between GOSA and four microlaunchers. They include T-minus, Skyrora, Rocket Factory Augsburg, and HyImpulse.
These microlaunchers are making great strides in terms of rocket manufacturing. These are crafts meant to carry payloads of up to 1000kg. Compared to other larger vessels, the crafts won’t carry as much but still play a crucial role for Skyrora, Rocket Factory Augsburg, and others.
