Blue Origin Rocket Launch on 14th April Tests Flight Conditions in Space

On 14th April, Blue Origin executed a successful NS-15 rocket launch test. This is the 15th successful mission for the company, marking a large milestone for the entire team. The latest Blue Origin rocket launch was aimed at rehearsing astronaut movements on board, simulating real-life space flight conditions.

Blue Origin Rocket Launch Goals & Results

The ultimate goal of the latest Blue Origin rocket launch mission was to conduct a series of simulations to prepare astronauts for real-life space missions. According to the company website, it was the first time the astronauts actually entered the capsule before launch. From the inside, they conducted communication checks, entering and exiting the capsule, as well as rehearsed on-board movements. Post-flight procedures and hatch opening have also been rehearsed.

Mannequin Skywalker and 25,000+ postcards from a Blue Origin non-profit organization Club for the Future have been present on board.

The company calls this rocket launch mission a success and underlines the following achievements:

  • Completing a successful capsule landing for the 16th time in a row;
  • Capsule reaching an apogee of 347,574 ft. above ground level;
  • Booster reaching an apogee of 347,193 ft;
  • Reaching ascent velocity at 2,234 mph;
  • Completing the mission in 10 minutes and 10 seconds.

The latest Blue Origin rocket launch mission had a window from 14th April to 17th April, but the weather was favourable, and the success was ensured right from the start. Prior to launch, the company restricted air movement above its test site. Besides taking air safety precautions, the mission was executed following all obligatory COVID-19 guidelines.

Given that the company’s latest simulation, it looks like, soon enough, the Blue Origin rocket launch will have actual people on board.
