Skyrora Carries Out a Successful Weather Balloon Launch

On 15th March, Skyrora announced the successful launch of a weather balloon. The launch took place the previous weekend and served to test the tracking system for Skyrora’s Skylark L suborbital vehicle. The weather balloon reached a 31.7 km altitude and took a picture the company shared on its official Twitter account.

About Skyrora Skylark L Vehicle

As a reminder, Skylark L is a single-stage suborbital vehicle with a 50 kg payload capacity. It is equipped with the innovative hydrogen peroxide–kerosene engine and has a 30 kN thrust above sea level. If further tests are as successful as the weather balloon launch, Skyrora may make its Skylark L maiden launch this year.
