Tony Gingiss is the New Virgin Orbit Chief Operating Officer

Former OneWeb CEO Tony Gingiss has accepted the new Virgin Orbit Chief Operating Officer position. The position is among several others the company created in line with its ambitions as a commercial satellite launch company. 

This new role takes him to the production facility located in Long Beach, California, where he will supervise the daily activities. His new role at the company follows the successful performance of the LauncherOne rocket back in January. 

As the Virgin Orbit COO, he will deliver a wealth of experience spanning 3 decades to the role given his extensive work in the aerospace industry. Previously, he worked for OneWeb Satellites, where he oversaw a new manufacturing facility’s construction and streamlined manufacturing processes that now deliver 2 satellites daily. 

Before his days at OneWeb, he worked at Boeing Satellite Systems for more than 20 years. His responsibilities included general leadership, engineering, operations, with his most impressive role as the Director of Strategic Integration and National Space Communications Program. 

Tony Gingiss – Virgin Orbit’s New Star

Dan Hart, the CEO of Virgin Orbit, expressed his excitement as Tony joined the team. He’s viewed as a huge asset to the company with extensive experience and leadership skills which will assist the company in attaining their goals.

Hart also stated that the company is getting ready for expansion after completing the LauncherOne testing. At the moment, the company is in the process of integrating several rockets at its facility in California as it gears up for upcoming missions in 2021.
