Sutherland spaceport plans proceed to public consultation stage

Moves to create a vertical launch pad in Sutherland, Scotland, took another step towards realisation this week as the plans have moved to the public consultation stage by Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

Two public consultation events have been announced where there will be an opportunity to see the finer details of the plans and for the public to ask any questions.

There have been a number of public consultation events prior to the planning process getting underway. Some of which have been met with protest over environmental concerns and other issues around road traffic and localised disruption.

The Sutherland spaceport consultation events will be held between 2nd October and 25th November 2019 at Melness Community Centre, close to the proposed launch site, where stakeholders will share further details of the plans and give the public an opportunity to ask questions or raise any concerns.
