Scottish Space Technology company taking on environmental issues head on

Scottish space company, Ecometrica, based in the country’s capital of Edinburgh have recently secured support from the UK Space Agency to use its satellite mapping technology to help protect 300 million hectares of tropical forest.

The Forest 2020 project, headed up by UKSA aims to both protect and restore forest land in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Ghana, Kenya and Indonesia through the use of data gathered from satellites using Ecometrica’s technology.
